Running Warm Up and Cool Down
Warming up before running is crucial for preparing the body and reducing the risk of injury. Engaging in a proper warm-up increases blood flow to the muscles, elevates the heart rate, and enhances overall flexibility
Healing Your Neck Pain With The Maitland Approach
Over the years I have been practicing it seems that neck pain and in particular neck pain with nerve symptoms (including numbness/tingling, radiating aching or sharp pain, and weakness in the upper extremity) is becoming more and more prevalent. Despite awareness of ergonomics and postural positioning becoming more common, those with desk jobs and people who are consistently on the computer are in an uphill battle to fight something they have to do on a daily basis. Add the compounding effects of increased phone/tablet use and overall just looking down consistently (often with poor posture) and the outlook can be daunting for those trying to manage it.
Chronic Plantar Fasciitis
Plantar Fasciitis can be a very painful and chronic condition. The most common symptom is a stabbing pain in your heel during your first steps in the morning. The pain may subside as the day goes on, but can be debilitating after standing for a prolonged period of time.
The plantar fascia is a band of tissue that connects you heel bone to the base of your toes. It commonly gets inflamed and causes pain under the heel.

How To Choose A Sneaker.
The weather is getting nicer and people want to get outside and start being active. One of the most common questions that I get asked is, “What kind of shoes should I buy.” A good supportive shoe can keep you active and decrease the risk of injury. A good sneaker is crucial to someone overcoming chronic pain.
Anatomy In Motion
Anatomy in Motion (AiM) was founded by Gary Ward. It started as a quest to understand the gait cycle and has evolved to a very powerful assessment and correction system based on human gait and foot function. The course work spans 6 days and consists of learning the motion in 3 dimension of every joint from the foot all the way to the skull.
Postural Restoration Institute
When your body senses restrictions in movement due to tight muscles, neuro-receptors send signals to your brain that are perceived as pain. Pain often increases the sympathetic nervous system’s fight or flight response, resulting in a change in muscle tone and respiratory rate. This response is critical when we are faced with an immediate threat; however, if we get stuck that heightened response, we remain in a stressful state. In other words, the pain doesn’t subside — it may get better after some massage or heat, but it doesn’t go away for good.
